Community
Family, Friends, and Neighbors
Being an active part of the communities we serve is part of everyday life at AurGroup. Whether teaching financial education in our local schools, serving local charities, or offering partnership opportunities, it’s who we are. We believe in giving back, getting involved, and supporting those around us. Coming this summer, a gift to our communities, a new space for connection and education.
Scholarships
AurGroup’s service to its members, dedication to building financial success through education, and commitment to social responsibility make a difference in the lives of our members and the communities we serve.
Working together to promote financial literacy and support the communities we serve is the basis for AurGroup’s scholarship program. AurGroup’s annual scholarship is a way to help contribute to the successes of our future leaders, those who see value in education and partnership and show dedication to their community.
AurGroup will award three scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Each scholarship has its qualification based on post-secondary education plans. A student can apply for just one.
The AurGroup Annual Scholarship ($1,000) is for high school senior AurGroup members planning to attend an accredited college or university and pursue a four-year degree in any field of study.
The Willard Hopkins Memorial Scholarship ($1,000) is for high school seniors/AurGroup members planning to attend an accredited college or university to pursue a 4-year degree in Education. Willard Hopkins was a long-time Credit Union Board Member, former Fairfield High School Principal, and champion of education.
The Skilled Trade Scholarship (two for $500) is for high school seniors (non-members welcome) pursuing an accredited degree or certification for a Skilled Trade through an accredited school or apprentice program.
To be eligible for the AurGroup Annual or Willard Hopkins Scholarships, the graduate must be a current member of AurGroup Financial Credit Union (as of March 1, 2025).
In Our Community
AurGroup is proud to support the communities it serves by giving back. Our version of giving back might be hosting a food drive for local food banks, collecting school supplies, and providing 120+ backpacks for kids or making donations. We celebrate the Credit Union philosophy of “people helping people” every day.
In Our Schools
We are passionate about being an active partner in our communities. One of our main areas of focus is our local schools. Founded, in part, by teachers, we are committed to promoting financial education and fun wherever we can.
You’ll often find us teaching banking basics in Hamilton, Fairfield and Butler Tech High Schools. This includes working directly with students on budgeting, credit building and responsible banking. We host an ATM at each of these schools as well. We also know that the habit of saving starts early so we partner with elementary schools, too.
And, we don’t just teach kids. Adults can learn a thing or two, as well. If you’d like us to visit your employer/business to offer financial education, credit building, home buying seminars, just give us a call at (513) 942-4422.
Aur Community Room
We truly love our communities. When a burst water line prompted a renovation of our corporate headquarters in Fairfield, we took the opportunity to make space for our community. We are pleased to offer a meeting space open to community organizations. The space will accommodate up to 50 people and features a separate entrance, restrooms, a kitchenette, and a digital presentation board. To submit a request and learn more, click here.
Donation Request
AurGroup Credit Union is more than a financial institution. We are your neighbors, friends, and family. We work and live in the same communities as you. So, we like to give back when we can.
While we’d love to fulfill every request, we simply cannot. An application is required for consideration to help streamline the process and ensure we support organizations that align with our priorities.
